Why SubForge

A watchdog,
not another list.

Trackers make you do the work. SubForge can watch connected banks automatically, keep manual subscriptions organized, and turn imports into reviewed candidates before anything is added.

Price-change alerts

When SubForge detects a subscription charging more or less than last time, you see the old price, new price, and exact delta. Quiet changes stop being quiet, and detected changes are reflected in your activity history.

Every change, surfaced

Renewals as they post. Brand-new recurring charges. The same service billing two cards. A subscription that quietly stops. Bank connections that need repair. Alerts for the exceptional — one tidy summary for the routine.

Connect your banks. Watch automatically.

Link banks read-only through Plaid's bank-grade infrastructure and recurring charges surface automatically. Credentials go to your bank, never to us. Manage each bank and disconnect anytime.

Trial Guard

Layered alerts 7, 3 and 1 days before a free trial converts to a charge, so you get time to decide before renewal day.

Imports for what banks can't see

Screenshot App Store subscriptions, receipts, or billing pages — or import a text PDF/CSV statement. On-device OCR reads screenshots locally; imports become best-guess candidates you review before adding.

Sync first. Export when you need it.

Your account keeps subscriptions synced and backed up across devices. Pro adds CSV and calendar exports when you want your renewal data outside the app.

The signature insight

Your AI stack, finally visible.

AI tools are the fastest-growing line on your card statement — $20 here, $10 there, a trial that quietly converted. SubForge gives your AI subscriptions their own category, totals and insights, so you know exactly what intelligence costs you.

Overlap detection and the annual-plan savings finder are built in — SubForge Pro helps spot savings hiding in plain sight.

FAQ

Fair questions.

How do the change alerts work?

Your connected bank feed updates SubForge whenever recurring charges post. The engine compares every charge against its history: a changed amount triggers a price-change alert with the exact delta, an unfamiliar pattern triggers a new-charge alert, the same service on two cards flags a duplicate, and a pattern that goes silent asks whether it was really canceled. Bank attention states, like a login that needs repair, are surfaced too.

Do I have to connect my bank?

No. SubForge works without bank access: add from the catalog, enter subscriptions manually, or import reviewed candidates from screenshots, PDFs, and CSVs. Automatic bank detection is a Pro feature; when you choose it, SubForge connects read-only through Plaid, never receives your credentials, and lets you manage or disconnect banks anytime.

The screenshot import — does my image get uploaded?

No. Screenshot text is read by your phone's own OCR directly on the device. The screenshot is never transmitted, stored, or seen by us. Screenshot import is a best-guess helper: review the candidates, skip one-off purchases, and add only subscriptions you recognize.

How do reminders work?

SubForge projects renewal dates from each subscription's billing cycle and schedules local reminders on your device. Server-sent push notifications are used for bank-powered alerts such as price changes, duplicates, new recurring charges, stopped charges, and bank attention.

Do I need an account?

Yes — monitoring is the whole product, and it needs somewhere safe to live. Sign up with Apple, Google, or email in seconds; your data stays isolated to your account, synced and backed up.

What makes Pro worth it?

The watchdog itself: bank-powered detection and change alerts — price changes, renewals, new charges, duplicates, and bank attention — plus unlimited subscriptions, full price-change history, the savings finder, and exports.
